Driver Pay and Benefits

Yarbrough Transfer Company is committed to being an industry leader in the compensation and benefits that we offer to our drivers. Below you will find a summary of the compensation and benefits we offer to company drivers and also a summary of the terms of lease we offer our owner operators.

Summary of Compensation and Benefits for YTC Company Drivers

  • Drivers receive a 24% commission on line-haul for all loads hauled
  • Drivers also receive 24% commission on selected accessorial charges, such as tarping, detention, and tipboard charges
  • Drivers receive a per diem of $20.00 for each night they are on the road
  • The 24% commission is equivalent to a starting per mile rate of 46 cents per mile for all miles traveled
  • Guaranteed pay of at least $500 per week
Health Benefits
(90 day waiting period)
  • YTC pays 100% of drivers’ health insurance premiums under the plan
  • Employee + Spouse: $15.73 per month
  • Employee + Children: $41.17 per month
  • Employee + Family: $355.33 per month
  • Individual deductible: $10,000
  • Family deductible: $10,000
  • Visits to primary care doctor: $35 copay; no additional cost
  • Visits to a specialist: deductible applies to cost
  • $10 / $35 / $60 prescription drug plan
  • Pursuant to YTC’s Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) plan, YTC pays the first $500 and final $5,500 of health care expenses that are subject to the deductible
  • Voluntary Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan allows employees to pay for health care expenses on a tax-free basis
  • Voluntary dental and vision coverage at low cost
401(k) Plan
(1 year waiting period)
  • Matching 401(k) plan
  • YTC matches 100% of employee contributions up to 3% of employee annual salary, and 50% of employee contributions between 3% and 5% of employee annual salary
Safety Bonus
  • $800 annually, based upon claims experience
  • eligible to be paid $200 quarterly
Fuel Efficiency Bonus
  • $900 annually, based upon achievement of fuel efficiency goals
  • eligible to be paid $150 every 2 months
Idle Percentage Bonus
  • $900 annually, based upon achievement of idle percentage goals
  • eligible to be paid $150 every 2 months
Driver of the Year
  • Annual driver competition based upon a number of safety, service and professionalism criteria
  • $2,500 cash prize to winner; $1,000 cash prize to runner-up
Paid Time Off
  • 5 paid holidays annually
  • 5 paid vacation days annually
  • 3 paid personal days annually (used for sick days, emergencies, etc.)
Home Time
  • YTC company drivers are home more than 95% of weekends annually
  • 1 week of orientation; paid $500 upon completion
  • Permanently assigned tractors and trailers, with no slip-seating
  • 75% of YTC company tractors are 2011 to 2014 model year tractors
